Kidepo Savanna Lodge
Kidepo Savanna Lodge is our most recent accommodation. Not far away from Kidepo Valley National Park, the lodge is built on a hill called ‘Kawalokol’, which means ‘cave hill’ in the local Karamojong language. From this hill you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Narus Valley which is part of Kidepo Valley National Park.
You can see savannah elephants, African buffalo’s, oribi and defassa waterboks very often. At dusk, night and early morning you have the chance to see striped jackals and you can hear lions roar and spotted hyenas ‘laugh’.
Of course, there are also various bird species like foxtail ravines and various songbirds. If you listen well, you can hear the African dwarf eagle at night.
Option 1: Lazy campsite with shared sanitary facilities
Kidepo Savanna Lodge has 8 ‘lazy camping’ tents. Your fully-equipped safari tent, including bed and bath linen, has a heat resistant shelter to protect you from the heat of the sun. The tents are equipped with mosquito nets as well. The shared sanitary area of the campsite is located near the tents and consists of separate toilets and showers.
All ‘lazy camping’ tents are located on the edge of the Kawalokol hill overlooking the Narus Valley and have a seat outside of the tent.
Option 2: Room / tent with own sanitary facilities
Kidepo Savanna Lodge features 8 ‘rooms’. These rooms are very spacious and luxurious safari tents, each with a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. The tents are equipped with mosquito nets. All luxury safari tents are located on the edge of the Kawalokol hill overlooking the Narus Valley and have a seat outside of the tent.
Restaurant, bar and lounge
At the highest point of the Kawalokol hill you will find our restaurant, bar and very spacious lounge. Here you can enjoy the magnificent views of Kidepo Valley National Park from a comfortable bench, of course with a hot or cold drink. The meals are as you would expect from us: varied and very tasty.
